Serge Krimnus



Serge Krimnus is an intellectual property attorney with experience as a software engineer, bringing substantial technical knowledge and experience to his practice. Serge has represented clients in U.S. district court in patent, copyright, trade secrets, and trademark infringement cases, prosecuted patent and trademark applications, and represented clients in domain name arbitrations. Serge has also represented clients in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Serge’s experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications and litigating patents spans a variety of technologies from computer software and hardware to mechanical engineering and medical devices. Serge also counsels clients on issues relating to selection, registration and protection of trademarks, and has experience in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Serge was selected in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Intellectual Property.

Serge is an Adjunct Professor of Law and Adjunct Professor of Clinical Law at Brooklyn Law School, where he teaches Patent Prosecution and supervises law students at the Brooklyn Law Incubator and Policy Clinic, which counsels startup technology companies on patent, trademark, and copyright issues. He has also been a guest lecturer on design patent law at New York University. Serge is also an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and has presided over multiple multi-million dollar cases.
